Preshant Royce de Mel

Mr.  Anthony Preshant  Royce de Mel is a registered Loss Adjuster at IRCSL, a Risk Engineer, a Chartered Engineer specializing in Mechanical Engineering, a Member of IESL, and IMechE (UK)  is our Head of Mechanical Engineering, He is seriously working towards achieving his 2nd Chartered Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters - (UK), a Member of CILA (UK).

A product of  St.  Anthony’s  College,  Katugasthota; and St.  Peters College, Colombo 4, Bambalapitiya Preshant de Mel commenced his professional career first as an Apprentice at Walker Sons &Company Ltd and climbed the professional ladder as Workshop Manager and later joined two other prominent, key leading, engineering Companies of Sri Lanka - Brown & Co. Ltd and Samuel & Sons Co. Ltd.

Mr. Preshant was exposed to working at leading insurance  Companies in Sri Lanka: Union  Assurance Limited and finally retired as the  AGM of  Ceylinco General  Insurance heading the Loss Adjusting and Risk Management Department for over thirty years,  and a widely known recognized, and respected professional in the industry having highest form of professionalism. He had also undergone overseas training in Engineering Insurance  Advance Course, Munich Re, Germany, and the ERC Industrial Loss Prevention Seminar, Singapore.  With his deep professional and practical backgrounds in Risk Engineering and Loss Adjusting leading his teams of Risk Accountants and Risk Engineers he handled over 750 inspections per week at his previous workplaces, Mr. Preshant is a perfect resource for us to implement high-tech solutions in Rapid Claims Handling and duly selected by the Board of Directors to Head our Mechanical Engineering Division as a Non-Executive  Director. He presently also holds the position
of Treasurer at Institution  of  Mechanical Engineers Group Sri Lanka, affiliated to IMechE
